The GG Practice Coaching why

To make sense of the complex and the challenging

Which, in a dental practice, is almost always leadership and teamwork. Everything else is downstream of those two.

How we do that is to look, to understand, and to find better ways. Better ways to communicate and work together. Better systems and protocols. Better and more predictable outcomes. What we bring is growth, development and a trusting relationship where we walk with you.

More about how we work
Planning and organising a dental practice workflow
  1. 01

    Understand you

We start with your leadership style, because everything downstream is shaped by it.

  2. 02

    Understand the team

Then the team understands themselves and each other, using DiSC and the Five Behaviors.

  3. 03

    Understand the business

Systems, numbers and protocols. What is working, what is missing, what is costing you.

  4. 04

    Understand the community

How the practice fits its market and how it attracts the patients it wants.

Meet Geri Gottlieb

She has run the practice, not just advised one

Geri co-owned two large periodontal practices with her husband, Dr. Bob Gottlieb, so she knows what it takes to grow a business from the ground up and what it costs when the systems are not there. That experience spans the silos most people only see one of: clinical, leader, manager and owner.

She spent four years as a lead coach with ACT Dental Practice Management alongside Kirk Behrendt before launching GG Practice Coaching in 2019. She also runs the GGPCI Institute, where office managers and administrators train through a leveled leadership continuum.

Success stories

I’m reflecting on our time the past few days with fondness and admiration. Three months into coaching with Geri and I have to say that her approach to leadership and accountability is not the way I expected would be the approach to improve systems and culture. At least, that was never the approach with my previous consultants. Geri is a different breed of consultant, she is a true Coach. Her approach is valuable and foundational. Something to build upon. I can see how it creates individual accountability and fosters an opportunity for growth and leadership for all that choose to rise. She isn’t bringing us food to survive, she’s showing us how to grow our own crops to thrive. Thank you!

Common questions

Before you book

What does a dental practice coach actually do?

A coach works on the practice with you rather than handing you a report. We look at how the practice runs day to day, agree what needs to change, then work alongside you and the team until the new way of working holds. That covers leadership, team development, systems and the numbers behind them.

How is coaching different from consulting?

A consultant tells you what to do and leaves. A coach builds the capability inside your practice so the improvement survives after we have gone. As one client put it, we are not bringing you food to survive, we are showing you how to grow your own crops.

Who do you work with?

Dental practice owners, office managers and whole teams, including periodontal and other specialty practices. Geri co-owned two large periodontal practices, so specialty work is familiar ground.

Do you work outside your local area?

Yes. Coaching runs through regular calls with on-site visits scheduled around what the practice needs, so we work with practices across the United States.

What happens on a discovery call?

It is a conversation, not a sales pitch. You tell us what is happening in the practice and what you would most like to change. We tell you honestly whether coaching is the right answer and what working together would look like.
